Huge congratulations to Danielle Garner of our O'Connell St. Salon, winner of the L'Oreal Professionnel Young Colourist of the Year 2012. This award is given to colourists aged under 25 and not only is testament to Danielle's nerves of steel as the entire colouring process is monitored by a panel of internationally renowned judges, but to the great training she has undertaken since she joined Peter Mark after her Leaving Certificate. Also, take a bow Suzie Dowling and Rachael Mannix from the Peter Mark Academy who were runner's up in the L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy – a fantastic achievement, particularly on the back of a win for Suzie in 2011. Peter Mark creative duo named Northern Ireland's L'Oreal winners!
The team at Peter Mark are celebrating as their colleagues Stephen Hannah and Laura McMurray were crowned Northern Ireland Regional Winners at the L'Oreal Colour Trophy 2012 finals in London yesterday (May 28th 2012). This fantastic achievement is all the more remarkable given that over 900 creative salons from all over the UK enter the awards – the biggest in the hairdressing industry. The competitors face an incredibly tough judging panel of renowned and respected hairdressers, each of them perfectionists in their field.
Stephen is a trainer in the Peter Mark Northern Ireland training and recruitment centre based in Belfast while Laura is a stylist in Peter Mark Portadown.
Speaking about this fantastic achievement, Peter O'Rourke, Chief Executive, Peter Mark said, "We are so proud of Stephen and Laura. As a trainer, Stephen will now be expertly placed to pass on his knowledge to the rest of the team as will Laura who I have no doubt will be sharing all she has learnt with her colleagues. Our congratulations go to them both".
We are now looking forward to the results of the Irish L'Oreal Colour Trophy finals which take place in Dublin on June 11th. The group has teams competing in three categories: The L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2012, the L'Oreal Professionnel Men's Image Award and the L'Oreal Professionnel Young Colourist Award.
Record Breaking Damien gets a lift!
How amazing is this man? You are looking at the new World Record holder for the most heads of hair dyed by one person in a 24 hour period. Damien Bennett, head colourist in Peter Mark Grafton Street, has his official Guinness Book of World Records certificate to prove it.
Not only did he beat the previous record, he smashed it at 62 heads dyed green, white and orange. He managed this extraordinary feat as part of 'Dye for Ireland' with Today FM which raises hundreds of thousands of euro for the Irish Cancer Society.
Damien, we salute you – the hero of colourists
